===Modern UI===
这是 Windows 8 为平板设备专门设计的界面。用户不仅可以通过使用微软帐户在 Windows 中登录，体验微软提供的在线服务，且触摸手势功能全面增强：从屏幕左端向内滑动可切换应用，从屏幕右端向内滑动可打开 Charm 栏。Modern UI 在 Windows 8 随处可见，并使用全新的扁平化风格设计，主要变化如下：
* 具备 Modern UI 的开始屏幕取代开始菜单，开始按钮从任务栏上被移除。
* 新增 Charm 栏，包含五大按钮（搜索、共享、开始、设备、设置），对应相应的功能。但因此计算机的睡眠、关机和重启操作被移到了 Charm 栏中，导致许多刚刚使用 Windows 8 的用户不知道如何进行这些操作。
* 将鼠标移动到屏幕边角能触发以下功能：
